The Fundamental Programme Objectives and General Competencies
- To provide graduates quality knowledge, based on solid fundamental skills of knowledge and understanding a wide range of mechanical engineering topics, thus providing the graduates the adequate competences skills for appropriate employability, in the case of completion of the study. When they decide to pursue further studies, the acquired knowledge will be an adequate basis for studying on the postgraduate research cycle.
- To develop the ability for critical analysis and synthesis, and to exercise professional engineering responsibility.
- With acquired knowledge from a wide range field of mechanical engineering, comparable with similar study program in Europe, the graduate of certain program will be capable of linking up different interdisciplinary fields.
The structure of the Study Programme
The Study Programme is the same for all students (no specified direction).
Admission requirements and selection criteria in case of restricted enrollment
1st Cycle Academic Study Programme in MECHANICAL ENGINEERING - Research and Development Programme can be entered by anyone who has:
A) passed the Matura exam,
B) passed the vocational educational final exam in any of secondary schools and exam of one of Matura’s subjects: Mechanics, Physics, Mathematics, Computing, Electrical Engineering, or Foreign Language; the selected subject must not be one of those, that the candidate has taken as part of the vocational education final exam,
C) completed any of the 4-Year secondary school programs before June 1st, 1995.
The number of places available: 200.
In the case of restricted enrollment:
Candidates from items A and C will be selected on the basis of:
- grade point average of Matura or final exam 60% of points
- and grade point average in third and fourth year 40% of points
Candidates from item B will be selected on the basis of:
- grade point average of vocational education final exam, 40% of all points
- grade point average in third and fourth year and 40% of all points
- result of Matura course. 20% of all points
Terms for advancement
Promotion Requirements from the first year to second year of Study Programme:
Students can advance second year until the end of study year, when they have fulfilled all the requirements, determined by the curriculum of the current academic year and have accumulated minimum of 48 ECTS credits.
Promotion Requirements from second year to third year of Study Programme:
Students can advance to third year, when they have fulfilled all the requirements, determined by the curriculum of second year and have accumulated minimum of 60 ECTS credits and all the requirements, determined by the curriculum of first year and have accumulated minimum of 48 ECTS credits.
