Application and admission procedures

The call for enrolment into Doctoral Study Programmes of the University of Ljubljana is published each year usually in February for the next academic year. Candidates apply for enrolment into a Doctoral Study Programmes in accordance with deadlines and the method specified in the Call for Enrolment.

The candidate submit the application for the enrolment into Doctoral Study Programme in with an electronic form at the eVŠ online portal up to 1st September 2021 inclusive.

Scan/photo of Diploma Certificate (scan all the pages of the document)

Scan/photo of the Diploma Certificate of the highest completed study programme, relevant for enrolment into 3rd study cycle. If the certificate has not yet been issued, the candidate should attach a certified copy of a temporary certificate of graduation.

Scan/photo of the Diploma Supplement, transcript or other relevant document in evidence of content and duration of education

Scan/photo of the complete Diploma Supplement or the Certificate of completed examinations stating the grade awarded for the diploma or master thesis work – related to the attached Diploma Certificate.

Study program from which, apart from the list of subjects, it is clear what is the contents of individual subjects for each particular year (in English).

Signed statement by the mentor

By the end of the application deadline, the candidate must reach an agreement with a higher education professor or scientific researcher  on FME who will act as a mentor, and submit their consent regarding the mentor.

Recognition of the foreign education

A candidate who has finished his or her studies in a foreign country (not Slovenia) and would like to continue education in the Slovenian higher education institution is obliged to acquire a decision on the recognition of the foreign education, if they have not obtained one already. Higher education institutions are the competent bodies for the education recognition procedure.
