The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in collaboration with the Technical Museum of Slovenia has, as per tradition, organised the Engineering Days event in Bistra pri Vrhniki. This year’s event took place from 26 to 29 September 2017, from 9 am to 1 pm, and on Sunday, 1 October 2017, from 11 am to 6 pm.

We also organised the Engineering Night event, which took place within the scope of the trans-European Researcher Night project. On Friday, 29 September 2017, from 5 pm to 9 pm, in Bistra pri Vrhniki, we offered visitors a free-of-charge viewing of numerous interesting attractions in the field of mechanical engineering, including the student race car, which was designed and built by students under the mentorship of professors from the Faculty of Engineering UL and sponsors, and later used in three competitions.

Within the scope of Researcher Night, the Technical Museum offered a complimentary viewing to the Reaching for the Starts with Elan, Elan and its Predecessors temporary exhibition, as well as the Our Beloved Car permanent exhibition, which covers over 100 years of history of the automotive industry in Slovenia.

The aim of Engineering Days and Engineering Night is to bring students, pupils and interested individuals closer to the possibilities and opportunities to become involved with the creative and innovative overcoming of challenges of the future and offer them an insight into the attractive world of engineering creativity.

We are delighted that interest in technology is constantly increasing. Both events this year collectively saw over 2450 visitors.
