They are also successful competitors, or even winners of international competitions. Eighteen students from the University of Ljubljana received this year's ceremonial document for outstanding academic achievements.

ABOUT THE LAUREATE

Žan Pirc, a student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana, has shown remarkable results in the study as well as research field. At the University degree program of the first level MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, he achieved the most pronounced success of the generation in all three years, and his average grade without a diploma for all three years of the first-level study is 9.742. The student is actively involved in the research activities of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering within the Laboratory for Photonics and Laser Systems (FOLAS). He actively participated in the research of the phenomenon of cavitation, which occurs, for example, in control valves and represents an important technical problem due to the destructive nature of the phenomenon.  He also actively participated in the conduct of experiments and preparation of materials for contributions related to basic research of the destructive character of cavitation in controlled conditions. The results of his above-described research work were published in two conference papers and two final reports on research results.
