Presentation of new hybrid extension method in the field of structural dynamics

Researchers from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering presented the M-SEMM expansion method, which aims to predict the dynamic properties of products at locations outside the actual experimental points. On real products, accessible experimental points are often limited and do not coincide with the areas of interest in which we want to evaluate dynamic properties.

The development of the M-SEMM is based on the reformulation of the expansion methods from the family, for which the extension process is based on an approximate numerical model of the structure under consideration. Compared to existing extension methods, the proposed M-SEMM is more generally applicable and exhibits higher accuracy in the predicted expanded properties. The presented method was published in one of the leading scientific journals in the field of mechanics and signal processing Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing (IF = 6.471).
