On Wednesday, 12 February, at 7pm you are invited to join us at the Cankarjev Dom Club for the lecture on Construction from Antiquity to the Present Day. This will be the second lecture by the Alumni Club of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana. This time we will travel through time with Prof. Dr. Jernej Klemenc. The artefacts of technical solutions of cultures in antiquity offer astonishing insights into the development of fundamental scientific and technical fields that are the basis of today high technology. Hydraulics, which was presented in the first lecture by Prof. Dr. Dular, as well as construction, which will be presented by Prof. Dr. Klemenc, had considerable infrastructural significance already in antiquity.

Both lectures are related to the exhibition Idea – Ancient Greek Science and Technology, which will be available to participants after the lecture by Prof. Dr. Klemenc.

This series of lectures is intended to emphasise the importance of mechanical engineering and the role of engineers in the society. Thank you for participating in the lectures and confirming time and again the importance of their contributions. Below are a few snapshots from the first lecture, Hydraulics from Antiquity to the Present Day.

We look forward to seeing you again on 12 Feb 2020 at 7pm in CD Club.
