Members of the Government of RS visit the Faculty of Mechanical Enigneering UL

On 8 March 2022, within the framework of the visit of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia to the northern part of the Central Slovenia region, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana was visited by dr. Mitja Slavinec, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, Nastia Flegar, Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, and Mojca Škrinjar, Member of the State Parliament.

During the visit of the government members of the RS, we presented the achievements of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana in the past years, highlighted the efforts we are making to continuously improve the quality of our research and teaching activities, to promote mechanical engineering and encourage innovation among students, the successes of our researchers and the ever closer cooperation with the industry, as well as the efforts we are making in the project of the new building of the UL Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the Brdo area. The new building will enable UL's Faculty of Mechanical Engineering to fulfil its societal mission and FME development strategy, offering a comprehensive range of cutting-edge research, development, innovation and teaching activities in the field of green and digital transformation.

The members of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia expressed their appreciation to the management of the Faculty, both in the field of teaching and research and in the efforts made for the new building of UL FME. Regarding the new building, they confirmed their support for the plans and timetable of the project and their understanding of the importance of the new building for the further development of UL FME. They also expressed appreciation for the Faculty's activities in promoting engineering and encouraging students and staff to innovate. "You see a challenge in every problem," was one of the things said by Mojca Škrinjar, member of the National Assembly.
