The University of Ljubljana has presented the Outstanding Mentor Award for the fourth year in a row, recognising researchers who shape the next generation of students and young researchers through scientific excellence, openness and dedicated mentorship. Among this year’s recipients is Prof. Janko Slavič of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Head of the Chair of Mechanics and leader of the LADISK Laboratory.
At the Faculty, we are proud of this achievement. Prof. Slavič combines technical expertise and broad research insight with a respectful and supportive approach to those entering the world of science. He not only guides young researchers through complex research challenges but also encourages them to reflect on the wider impact of their work and to develop a strong sense of responsibility towards the scientific community and society.
Within his laboratory, students and young researchers grow not only into highly skilled professionals but also into thoughtful and socially responsible individuals.
We also warmly congratulate all other award recipients whose dedication strengthens the culture of mentorship at the University of Ljubljana and helps create an environment in which young talents can fully develop their potential.
We wish Prof. Slavič many more research breakthroughs, bold ideas and inspiring mentorships that will continue to enrich our academic community.
