Application deadlines for Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship and foreign nationals from non-EU countries

  • The application period runs from 1 April to 30 August 2024:
    The deadline for submitting proof of eligibility for admission is 30 August 2024 inclusive.

Application deadlines for Slovenian nationals and foreign nationals from EU Member States:

  • The first application period runs from 1 April to 30 August 2024:
    The deadline for submitting proof of eligibility for admission is 10 September 2024 inclusive.
  • The second application period runs from 13 September to 16 September 2024.
    ATTENTION: The second application period will only be opened if there are vacancies after the first application period. Only candidates who were not accepted during the first application period may apply for the second application period.
    The deadline for submitting proof of eligibility for the second admission period is 16 September 2024 inclusive.

Application deadlines for students wishing to exercise the right to combine study and be admitted under the admission criteria:

  • The application period runs from 1 April to 30 August 2024:
    The deadline for submitting proof of eligibility for admission is 10 September 2024 inclusive.

ATTENTION: Registration is only possible during the application deadlines and only via the eVŠ portal. Applicants may only submit one application and must list all study fields in order of priority. There will be 27 places per study field. Students are ranked according to a list of preferences and their success in their first cycle studies (average grade and thesis grade). For first cycle programmes that do not include a thesis, only the average grade is taken into account.

Before applying, please revise the requirements on bridging exams that should be completed prior enrolling to the programme!

Foreign citizens must pay a tuition fee in accordance with the Rules on tuition fees and accommodation in students’ dormitories for Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship and foreigners in the Republic of Slovenia (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, Nos 77/16, 25/19 and 56/22).
On the basis of the signed protocols on cooperation in the field of education, the citizens of Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia are, for enrolment in the 2023/2024 academic year, equated to citizens of Slovenia and the citizens of the European Union Member States regarding the payment of study expenses, i.e. they are exempt from payment of tuition fees for foreigners for full-time studies.

Price list

Candidates who apply for admission during the first application period will receive the decision on the results of the selection procedure and the notification of admission by e-mail (to the e-mail address provided in the application form) no later than 13 September 2024. All admissions will close no later than Friday, 27 September 2024.

Admission procedure for the Master’s Degree Programme of Cycle II in Mechanical Engineering – R&D Programme (application timeline):

  • All applicants will receive a decision on the outcome of the selection process by e-mail (to the e-mail address provided in the application form) no later than 13 September 2024.
  • Accepted applicants will receive an enrolment notification and will begin to select specialist and general electives from the lists offered in accordance with the accredited programme. Think in advance about the subjects you want to take and how you want to prioritise them. We advise you to check the timetable and read the subject descriptions available on our website before making your choice.
    The deadline for submitting the list of desired electives is Thursday, 19 September 2024. If a candidate fails to select electives by the deadline, we will allocate those electives for which there are still places available.
  • This is followed by a classification of elective subjects for all students. Criteria for classifying students to subjects: Students are ranked according to a list of preferences and their success in their first cycle studies (average grade and thesis grade). For first cycle programmes that do not include a thesis, only the average grade is taken into account. On Friday 20 September 2024, candidates will be informed of the outcome of the elective selection procedure and will start filling in the enrolment form.
  • The last day for submitting the enrolment form to the VIS is Tuesday, 24 September 2024.
