As the date approaches, we are excited for the upcoming Open-source Scientific Computing in Structural Dynamics Conference and Summer School, scheduled to start on June 26th of 2023. The event aims to promote and accelerate open-source-based research in the field of structural dynamics.

For more details, see the official OpenSD2023 website.

The conference will feature presentations focused on open-source efforts related to structural dynamics. While the Python programming language will be the main focus, presentations related to other programming languages such as Matlab are also welcome. The conference will cover a wide range of topics, including mathematical modeling, experimental techniques, computational methods, nonlinear and stochastic dynamics, structural dynamics, acoustics, fluid-structure interactions, identification and modal analysis, dynamics of rotating systems, structural health monitoring, and vibration control and isolation.

On 27th of June 2023, the summer school will start. The summer school aims to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills in open-source scientific computing, with a specific focus on the Python programming language. The summer school program will consist of three tracks: Collaboration on open-source projects, image-based modal analysis and frequency based substructuring and transfer path analysis.

The conference and summer school primarily target PhD or MSc students working in the field of structural dynamics. However, researchers, professionals, and enthusiasts from related disciplines are also welcome. We are expecting 62 participants from 11 different countries.

The attendees will learn about recent developments in open-source packages relevant to scientific research in structural dynamics. The event will provide networking opportunities and encourage collaborations and knowledge sharing among participants.

We are looking forward to meeting all of the participants of the Open-source Scientific Computing in Structural Dynamics Conference and Summer School!
