The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana has once again showcased the exceptional talent of its students! On Wednesday, October 23, attendees at Peskovnik, the faculty’s open laboratory, were impressed by the students’ fresh and innovative projects that combine engineering expertise with creativity and boldness. Peskovnik provides a space for students to test their ideas in a collaborative and experimental environment, encouraging the pursuit of new solutions.
Students presented completed projects from the semester, including a crossbow inspired by medieval engineering, the creation of a diatonic accordion, and a pottery wheel. They also showcased rapid summer projects like a 3DOF driving simulator, a remotely launched lightweight aircraft (D.I.L.A), aquapond, and fingerpark. The Edvard Rusjan Team and Superior Engineering shared updates on their work for the 2023/24 academic year and their future plans.
This event highlighted projects that demonstrate the unstoppable spirit of young innovators. Additionally, three new projects were introduced that students will develop in the winter semester: designing and building a skateboard press, creating a control system and seats for a pedal-powered vehicle (peciklavto), and working on the development and testing of chassis implants.
Donors who support student innovation and Peskovnik’s activities listened attentively to the presentations.
Everyone is invited to subscribe to the newsletter, participate in workshop(s), or visit us every Thursday at 2 PM in Peskovnik!
