The Double Master’s Degree Programme offers students a unique opportunity to gain an international education in mechanical engineering while earning degrees from both the University of Ljubljana and the University of Naples Parthenope.

The programme combines the strengths of two established European universities, providing students with advanced technical knowledge, international experience, and interdisciplinary competencies in engineering management, sustainable technologies, and innovation. Upon successful completion of the programme, students receive two Master’s degrees, one from each partner institution.

Students enrolled in the Research and Development Master’s Programme at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, complete the first year of studies in Ljubljana and the second year at the University of Naples Parthenope in Naples, Italy.

The programme is available in two study orientations:

  • Energy Engineering
  • Process Engineering

Throughout the programme, students acquire 120 ECTS credits, with at least 60 ECTS completed at each partner institution.

 

 

A key component of the programme is the Master’s thesis, which is jointly supervised by academic staff from both universities. Students benefit from international mentorship, access to research facilities at both institutions, and the opportunity to work on topics of global relevance.

The thesis is written and defended in English before a joint committee composed of representatives from both universities.
