Project description:
The FINNOPACK project focuses on the development of advanced sustainable packaging, addressing various challenges within the program area. The development of sustainable packaging is hindered by gaps in technology and expertise between regions, which is why the project aims to connect research institutions with industry. This connection will help utilize advanced technologies and practices and improve access to innovations and resources. Regional challenges include uneven infrastructure development for both packaging development and recycling, leading to difficulties in adopting and effectively using sustainable packaging solutions. The project promotes cross-border collaboration to enhance infrastructure and access to sustainable solutions for participating project partners, businesses, and individuals. It supports regions in transitioning to circular, environmentally friendly technologies and improves the resilience and sustainability of regional economies.
The overall goal of the project is to develop and manufacture innovative sustainable packaging solutions that contribute to reducing environmental impact and supporting the circular economy in the program area. The project aims to enhance the sustainability of packaging by using recycled materials and waste biomass, along with advanced technologies, while aligning with European environmental standards.
