Project title: Resilient Multi-Agent Autonomy Platform
Type of project: International Project
Role: Subcontractor
Financing: European Space Agency ESA
Duration: 01.06.2025 – 01.09.2026
Laboratory: Laboratory for Mechatronics, Production Systems and Automation LAMPA
Project description:
The project focuses on the development of miniature cryogenic Stirling coolers. These coolers are used in a wide range of applications, but most commonly for cooling infrared (IR) sensors in thermographic cameras, which are critical to the aerospace industry.
The main objective of the project is to develop an advanced dynamic model that enables accurate prediction of the vibrations generated by Stirling coolers during operation. Vibrations can have a negative impact on the performance and lifetime of the coolers and the systems in which they are installed. Our model will allow us to test and improve the design of coolers to reduce these vibrations. This will contribute to better performance of thermographic cameras and other systems in the aerospace industry where reliability is critical.
