Project title: Strengthening the Excellence of Additive Manufacturing Capabilities
Acronym: SEAMAC
Type of project: EU projects
Role: Coordinator
Financing: Horizon Europe
Duration: 1.01.2023 – 31.12.2025
Laboratories: Laboratory for Alternative Technologies LAT and Laboratory for synergetics LASIN
Project description:
The use of 3D printing can transform industries by offering custom made parts production, but such additive manufacturing (AM) requires highly specific training. The EU-funded SEAMAC project is working to achieve this by creating a new consortium to boost expertise on known issues like making products from functionally graded materials and utilising post-processing. The consortium, between the University of Ljubljana, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, and Technische Universiteat Bergakademie Freiberg, combines know-how about direct laser deposition, plasma electrolytic polishing and materials science. The project will also offer workshops and summer schools to increase technical and non-technical cooperation and competences.
